MOL Group partners with Evonik & thyssenkrupp

MOL Group has entered into key contracts related to core technologies of the Polyol Project. The contracts concern the purchase of technology licenses and process design packages for the hydrogen peroxide to propylene oxide (HPPO) technology of propylene oxide production.

The licensor of the hydrogen-peroxide unit for captive use is Evonik, while a consortium formed by Evonik and thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions (a global steel producer with locations throughout the Americas) licenses the propylene oxide unit. Read more...

worldsteel June 2017 crude steel report released

The World Steel Association’s (worldsteel) members represent approximately 85 percent of the world's steel production. World crude steel production for the 67 countries reporting to worldsteel was 141.0 million tons (Mt) in June 2017, a 3.2 percent increase compared to June 2016.

World crude steel production was 836.0 Mt in the first six months of 2017, up by 4.5 percent compared to the same period in 2016. Read more...

Spirit Aerosystems partners with Norsk Titanium

Aerospace manufacturer Spirit Aerosystems has announced a commercial partnership with Norsk Titanium for its proprietary 3D printed titanium technology.

Norsk Titanium’s 3D printing method is known as Rapid Plasma Deposition (RPD) and uses wire feedstock to build up near net shape parts that require minor post-machining. Read more...

MRC Global announces new contracts

MRC Global Inc., whose global headquarters are located in Houston, Texas, has announced its Norwegian subsidiary, MRC Global Norway AS, will provide specialty and high alloy valves, manifolds, fittings, tubing, enclosures, tube clamps and other items for Statoil’s Johan Castberg project.

MRC Global was also named as the provider of instrument tubing, fittings, valves and manifold products to Deutsche Erdoel AG's Dvalin project in the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Read more...
