Fukuoka delivers stainless steel Navig8 Spica

Navig8 Chemical Tankers Inc., an international shipping company focused on the transportation of chemicals, with numerous locations throughout the USA, has announced that it has taken delivery of the Navig8 Spica, a 25,000 DWT (deadweight tonnage) stainless steel chemical tanker, from Fukuoka Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.

The Navig8 Spica is the first of two vessels contracted at Fukuoka to be delivered to the company and is the first of two vessels to be delivered under the sale and leaseback arrangements entered into with subsidiaries of SBI Holdings, Inc. Read more...

Netherlands to receive 1st LNG cargo from US plant

The Netherlands is set to receive its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) delivery from Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass export plant in the US, according to shipping data. The Arctic Discoverer vessel, with a carrying capacity of 133,500 cubic metres of LNG, departed the facility on the Gulf Coast and is listed as heading for Rotterdam, data shows.

Cheniere is currently the only company able to export large cargoes of LNG from the US. Read more...
