In a continuation of the article, ‘An overview of welded low nickel chrome-manganese austenitic and ferritic stainless steel: Part two of two’, Urade VP and Ambade SP from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Yeshwantrao Chavan of Engineering continue to talk about the increased interest of welding low nickel grades, and how it is not currently matched by a proper level of user knowledge.
“There is a risk that these materials may be used in unsuitable applications. It is very important to cultivate a method of fabrication like welding. This paper looks at the behavior of low nickel chrome-manganese and ferric austenitic stainless steel in terms of microstructure and sensitization effects.”
